easymack63 18 Posted October 16, 2014 I got home yesterday. Like you said, in a lot of pain. Trying to get in Protein and Water but I'm not sure I can. It took me almost 2 hours this morning to get down 8 oz of Isopure. I have constant tummy discomfort but I can't tell if it's gas, nausea, hunger, overstuffing my sleeve, or just from surgery. Any tips?
Angie413 47 Posted October 16, 2014 I haven't begun that stage yet I start tomorrow. Hopefully others can share. I too am still trying to get the Water and crystal light in. Good luck keep me posted
CafeCathey 21 Posted October 18, 2014 Had my RNY bypass on Tuesday 10/14/14 @ 10am and was released to come home Wednesday @ 5pm. I was not in any pain after surgery and was able to do 4 laps around the nurses station about 2 hours after surgery. I had a drain which the Dr. removed before discharge. I have only been drinking Water and Protein Shakes. So far 2 shakes a day for about 47-48 grams of Protein. My water intake has been right around the recommended 64 ounces. Still using pain medication for slight abdominal discomfort, once or twice a day. My Dr. appointment is Monday and at that point I should be able to move on the soft food. Even with all the information out there I still seem to have so many questions! Everyones experience seems to be sooooo different. So far everything for me is going well. (and I did just knock on wood).
Melitta 19 Posted October 18, 2014 Got home from surgery on Thursday. I had surgery on the 14th. I am on full liquids and I am not having any problems. I had my gas strips in the hospital. Relieved all gas. Really sore and tire easily. But I take walks. Not long ones. But it gets me going in the morning. On full liquids and surprised that no stomach discomfort. resipsa89 28 Posted November 24, 2014 Hey guys! How is everyone doing more than 1 month post op (almost 6 weeks actually!)? I'm down 31 lbs, which I am pretty pleased about. I haven't weighed myself in a week so hopefully it's more! I was wondering what everyone's menus look like at this stage. My nutritionist cleared me for a normal diet so pretty much I am allowed to eat everything (except the obvious prohibitions). I still supplement with Protein Shakes most days, but on a normal day, I will have an egg for Breakfast with some ketchup, a few wheat crackers with a laughing cow wedge for snack, deli meat (chicken or ham) with avocado for lunch, and then whatever I can get a hold of for dinner (piece of meat, quiche without crust), etc. How is everyone doing and what is everyone eating?
