kjs1995 4 Posted October 7, 2014 Hey! Do any of you dorm away at school? Or have you lived in a dorm post surgery. I was wondering what it is like to be on a college campus after surgery. I was wondering how the food plan works? If you keep food in your dorm and what not. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
woo woo 872 Posted October 7, 2014 (edited) You eat in a cafeteria 2-3 times per day (there are lots of choices -- both healthy and fattening -- and there's always a salad bar). They normally offer some type of fish or lighter Protein option at each meal in addition to all kinds of other stuff. Plus you will keep a little mini fridge with tiny freezer in your room and there is a microwave on the floor that everyone shares. So, you can keep healthy Snacks and meal options in your room if you wish but normally you will want to go eat your meals in the cafeteria (that meal plan is expensive!! must use it ) At my college the only meal that wasn't provided by the cafeteria was once weekly, the Sunday dinner. kjs1995 4 Posted October 8, 2014 I have a full meal plan but the food options are pretty sucky, I try to just stick to the salad bar. I was thinking of keeping Protein Shakes in my fridge because I never wake up in time for Breakfast. Maybe some fruit cups would be good. I find it hard to keep fruit good in my dorm. Thank you for your advise it was really helpful!
