breehuskins 18 Posted October 7, 2014 I have totally not been counting calories. I really honestly forgot. I have lost 18 pounds in a little under three weeks!!! How many of you forget to count calories or Protein? ?
lose4life2 152 Posted October 7, 2014 I haven't forgotten just struggling on how to even figure it out.
Mayaresearchmom 104 Posted October 7, 2014 (edited) @@lose4life2 Try the My Fitness Pal app. It works great for logging your foods. You can set it for the amounts/limits of Protein, days and carbs that your doc and NUT set for you. Mine is 60 grams of Protein, 30 grams of fats, and 100 grams of carbs per day. I also keep track of weight, daily Vitamins, exercise etc. The app can be used on your computer or phone. It's been a lifesaver for me. I feel like it keeps me accountable for what I eat. It has most foods on it already, and you can also input your own recipes. Edited October 7, 2014 by Mayaresearchmom
angelicHG7 118 Posted October 7, 2014 I use my fitness pal... I don't really count calories though, I just track Protein, carbs and sugar but I can see the calories.
esskay77 785 Posted October 7, 2014 I don't count calories anymore, I just track Protein right now. Am trying to figure out how to track carbs but haven't been as successful, though I try to stay away from them as much as possible. I'll have a bit of carbs when I can but I haven't quite figured that all out yet.
breehuskins 18 Posted October 7, 2014 Ok so I pulled up several fitness pal apps. What does the icon look like??
breehuskins 18 Posted October 7, 2014 I'm diabetic Si I have to kinda stat away from carbs if I want to stay insulin free. And I remember them saying you have to get so many calories in order for you to lose wright properly. I know I'm not getting enough Protein but I refuse to use that nasty powder or pay for those expensive drinks other people are buying. I've been making homemade chicken salad and eating two or three spoonfuls on a piece of lettuce for lunch. Then a glass of milk. I get my protein from that and an egg and slim fast. Marathongirl 106 Posted October 9, 2014 MyFitnessPal is great for tracking calories, fat, Protein, ect. My doc doesn't really want me counting calories, but I have to, to keep myself accountable. I'm 7 months out and could eat just about anything. It keeps me on track!
Mayaresearchmom 104 Posted October 11, 2014 @@breehuskins Look up myfitnesspal.com. The app on iPad is a blue square with a white outline of a person jumping.

Larly109 19 Posted October 11, 2014 I agree, My Fitness Pal is great! If you log on through a computer, you can change your daily goals to help keep you on track. I also purchased a Fitbit and have it linked to MFP.
