I'm post op day 4 and looking for some progress to go off on. Starting weight was 250, surgery weight was 242. I'm sore, in pain and in the regret phase due to the pain right now. I need some motivators, please.

Hi AuriP, glad you are thinking positive. I went on obesityhelp.com and they have this neat picture feature with before and after photos. It takes a while to go through but the neat thing is you can find someone with your body type and age before and it helps to see the result after. It's addicting! And awesome to see.

Hi there, I am 5 ft 2 as well. I just did huge post with photos on the gastric bypass journey page...have a look this will inspire you! In 6 months I have gone from size 24 to 12km and still have 10kg to go. You can do this...it's all about mindset...do you really want it so bad? Then you can only be the one to make it happen! Hugs. .

Thank you all for your support. I am feeling so much better than I did at 4 days post op. I am nearly whole feeling, just some minor side pain, almost like a strained muscle. It is so nice to see so much accomplishments. Right now I'm a 22/24, I'm hoping to get to a size 8, I would like to end up being about 130 with a bounce up to 140.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
