I had my first food melt down today i was sleeved on 9-24-14 and my husband eats out all the time it didn't bother me till today ! I cried a little and I don't know how to react !! I feel hungry but I'm scared to try new things I just stick to my Protein pudding, Jello, and Soup /mushy foods . I just panicked today with my reaction and I don't know what to make of it ????

You will be able to eat solid food again in a few weeks (depends on your doctor's instructions) just hang in there.

I also had this kind of moments but I alreaddy committed to this process so I had to do what I was supposed to do. I hated the pureed period, full liquid food was way easier. Thank God I didn't need to eat a lot of those pureed stuff to fill in my tiny pouch. I was not hungry so I just eat at fixed hour to just fill in the stomach for the energy, then I went out for a long walk. I went to bed early as well to accelerate the better tomorrow lol

Be brave, try some new food. I remember how some simple new change in my meal made me so happy during the first month post-op.

Cheer up!! ✌✌✌

Aww. I had a melt down too. So I had my husband take me out for all you can eat Soup and bread sticks at Olive Garden. Granted I ate the broth and he had the bread sticks and the chicly parts of the soup. It was fun and kinda romantic. Good luck. And be kind to yourself. Solids are just a few weeks away. :) AllofMe.

One day at a time. Your hormone levels are all out of whack as is everything you know as "normal" as far as your eating habits. You are tired, your body is healing, you are completely entitled to a melt down once in awhile. Kiss your family, tell them you love them and that you will be back to normal in a few weeks. :D

I cried over my husband cooking bacon in the early days, it does get better and a lot easier. I had read about head hunger and the emotions going mad but never realised just how bad it could get. Don't worry about a melt down we all go through them.

Thank you every one!! I really felt alone on this one . I really appreciate the support and your story's! ☺️ I got past it by watching a movie and going to sleep early! Lol (like 7:30) ???? I talked to my husband as well to let him know how hard it is for me and he said he won't bring it in the house anymore ,we'll see how long that last lol again thank you for taking the time to reply to my post it really made me feel much better!

I'm 3 weeks post op and I did the same thing! I had 2 breakdowns! It's normal and you'll be ok once you remember why you did this in the first place. My family eats out too and I have been bugged at times. I couldn't wait to be on purées and now I'm just sick of it all, but I remember why I did this. Stay strong and take it one step at a time!! ????

Thank you all for the helpful comments. I am also new to this group. I had my Gastric Sleeve surgery 9/25/14. I never realized how much I loved food. I have also been emotional since surgery with my husband mostly. He's so good to me and we had a long loving talk last night that this was the best thing for my health and this too will pass and soon I will be feeling so much better. He's my best friend and all the encouraging words and love help drastically. Thank you all for your wonderful encouraging words. ❤️ I'm so thankful to have found this group.

This is weird but when I think of no longer eating some of my favorite things after I have the surgery I get kind of panic-y! ????. I know eventually I can't eat normal flood but these are foods that I don't want to bring back at all. Sadly I felt the same way when I quit smoking 2 years ago. I lived through that just fine so I know I'll be fine but it just shows me what kind of affect food has on me psychologically! ????. I'm really looking forward to not having those feelings and being on the other side.

holding fast so far.... smells are starting to make me miss some food... 4 weeks on Wednesday.... on to soft foods. I think first thing up is a breadless sandwich... slice of lunch meat, slice of cheese with a pickle of some sort rolled up. sounds good in my head right now. last 10 days have been in stall mode.... I hate it. trying to stay positive. need to bust out of this stall and start losing weight.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
