Beni 1,484 Posted October 6, 2014 maggiemayuk, thank you for sharing. I would absolutely love to get a wig. I have seen them online but feared they may look too fake. I have curly thick hair (pixie cut right now) and blow drying and straightening almost everyday is a workout, specially when it was a little longer. My arm actually hurts. A nice wig in a slightly longer length would be a dream. I'll check out the Raquel Welch line
auntiemel 275 Posted October 6, 2014 I shed a lot anyways, so I'm wondering if I will just shed more later on. My sister and I both have shedding issues, I guess thicker hair shed more? I have no idea. I take Biotin daily as my nails have always just bent and broken off, I never notice much of a difference until now, and I had to stop them pre-op and can't take them until 10/3. It is normal for people to lose up to a hundred hairs a day. I think that is insane, but is what I have always read. I will say that if you have long hair, it is much more noticeable. Mine is long and dark and you can spot a lost hair from a million miles away! Oh wait, I meant a million lost hairs! =/
gowalking 10,790 Posted October 6, 2014 Listen ladies...there isn't much you can do about the hair loss. I went through it and I know how devastating it is. I was horrified the day I realized my scalp was showing. I did my best to cover it up, started to take Biotin, Iron, and upped my Protein with powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury powder. Eventually it did start to come back. Then I did the best thing ever. I had my hair cut short. Not only does it hide the thinning hair by making it less noticible, but between the weight loss, no more glasses, and the new short hairdo, I really look so much younger. In fact, I have a picture of my granddaughter as a baby with me holding her on the couch. Right next to it is the same picture set up of me and her on the couch that was taken only a couple of weeks ago. These pictures were taken ten years apart and I look better now than the picture of her and me when she was a baby. Hang in there...it will get better, I promise.
