auntiemel 275 Posted October 4, 2014 I know I can make myself crazy diagnosing myself with things so I will ask here... Anyone else notice tenderness when pressing on tummy about 12 days post op? I haven't taken any pain meds for 2 days now and don't know it that was masking it. I pressed lightly over the area where hiatal hernia would have been repaired and it is definitely tender, not excruciating, but I wouldn't want to be punched there
MichiganChic 3,262 Posted October 4, 2014 That's normal. It takes a good six weeks to heal. Stop pressing on it
auntiemel 275 Posted October 4, 2014 Haha! If it hurts don't touch it, right. I freak myself out and think "oh no it's a leak" or something like that. I think the first 11 days I was still numb. Even some of my incisions were still numb up until today. Now my tummy is waking up or something...nerve regeneration.
auntiemel 275 Posted October 4, 2014 I also think my weight loss has my fat belly sitting in different spots now...can't wait til my beach ball belly is gone

auntiemel 275 Posted October 4, 2014 I just now realized I have an incision there...so I'm thinking the culprit has been found lol
finediva 979 Posted October 4, 2014 Of course there is tenderness and soreness. They took a knife and cut you open. While the outside may look healed and maybe the tapes have fallen off, the layers inside of you is not.
mick 99 Posted October 4, 2014 I have not noticed any soreness since my release from the hospital. My wife's dogs jump right in the middle of my stomach every time I lay down. No pain, just uncomfortable when they want lay on me.
