Weight loss noticed by others

Recommended Posts

Today my hubby told me "you are looking so much skinnier" and that's at 11 days post-op!!!!! I'm excited! I can't wait to reach goal, even when I hit stalls, I will have to remember where I started. My highest weight was 337 a few months ago. I wanted to crawl under a rock! I haven't weighed since Monday, but even then I was 304. That's 33 pounds! Woohoo!

What a nice compliment!!!!!

I took pictures of myself along the way...I often refer back to those pictures because sometimes I lose sight of how far I've come, I get hung up on the scale. I put my "before" picture next to a current one and am always surprised! I also took my measurements. Sometimes, when the scale isn't moving, you can see other indicators.

Best of luck to you!

YOU just wait!!!!!!! It gets better and better and better..... And don't fret about the stalls, once you pass those minimal stall days, it continues to come down even faster!! Good Luck!!

I work out of town so only see my husband on weekends. When am I came home this past Friday, he kept telling me how good I look and how much weight I've lost. And he gave me bunches of kisses. Lol! It's only been a month since surgery but he says he sees a big difference. He is so sweet.

Exactly just you wait! in about a month or two, people will start to come to you and ask for your secrets to lose weight! lol

I had a sweet colleague giving me a bunch of compliment, she said now I look so healthy and active, even my skin is glowing! Additionally she told me that before how I looked tired and seemed to have difficulty to walk!!!

I took that as a compliment but It's kinda sad a little though, didn't reallize how I looked so unhealthy in other people's eyes.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
