Pictures Of Me

Fun pictures. Your dimples are so cute. I can really see the weight loss in your face. Take good care of your incision that isn't healing as well.

Those are good pictures, I have spent a lot of time online looking at others journey pictures. The one of you squeezing your upper arm made me laugh, I do that too when looking in the mirror! It's usually in disgust at myself, but now that I have the band, I'm hopeful I'll wave it goodbye, instead of it waving long after I've stopped moving!

I too had an allergic reaction on my abdomen and IV site hand, i'm not sure if it was the tape, or what ever they used to sterilize me pre-op.

I bought a small bottle of tea tree oil and massaged it on my whole stomach 2-3 times a day, and in a week it was all healed. It also helped my wounds heal nicely. It has antibiotic properties, and anti-viral properties. It doesn't burn, but it has kind of a strong medicinal smell. You can look into online and see if it's of interest to you. It cost me $12 for a small bottle at GNC (health & nutrition store)

Congrats on the weight loss, great smile and cute man!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
