Protein two years out

Recommended Posts

Little 5.3 ounce containers of Dannon Oikos Greek yogurt (vanilla is only one of their delish flavors) have 12 grams of Protein. The yogurt goes down easily, tastes good, and also has some good carbs for energy. The whole container is 120 calories, for those who care about that.

I was able to get 50-60g in from the very beginning, thanks to Protein shakes and not eating anything that wasn't Protein. After about 7 months when my restriction relaxed a little I am easily able to get 80-100g everyday... at least 40-50g from a protein smoothie and a Quest or other Protein Bar. The rest comes from food....fish, elk meat, burger, steak, roasts, tuna fish, egg salad, omelets, edamame, Greek yogurt, Kashi Go Lean Cereal (13g protein+ 4-6 from the milk), crab cakes, split pea Soup, bean Soup, pumpkin seeds, beef Jerky, mixed nuts, turkey, chicken, cheese (any kind...not just string), bratwurst, sausage, smoked pork loin, baked Beans, scallops, shrimp, homemade protein pancakes, milk, cottage cheese, Peanut Butter.....

And yes, and I usually do eat at least 6 times/day.

Thanks:) I cannot look at yogurt after pre- and post surgery.

I guess I'll have to take one of my days off and prepare ahead. Load back up on Quest as my supply is now stale.

Today, I was bad again. European bakery, had 2 macaroons. I was out of almond milk, had to make do with a Skinny Latte... Hit bakery out of impulsive and again my illogical thinking that sugar is energy! It's self-sabotage! I know better, but still do it! I don't know why I'm being so stupid! I went from a 4 to a 6, I feel gross. I have an RX for Phentermine. Pathetic! I know I've stretched my stomach!

Someone slap me lol! Ugh! My husband is no help. He's been so jealous since my weight loss, I know he's hoping I gain!

Thanks for the ear! Hoping for intelligent choices tomorrow!

ellefell, I don't think you've stretched your tummy.

I think you've stretched your brain. ;)

Sounds to me like you (might?) have become more ambivalent about whether you want to stay a size 4 vs. a size 6 ... ? What about a size 8, 10, 12, 14 ... ?

You accomplished so much to lose this weight. You certainly can lose this much smaller amount of weight. "Skinny people" do this all the time. Building this skill of losing small amounts of regain is essential to our long-term success. It's just another skill we have to learn.

But first you have to decide what you want and what's important to you. And then you'll make that happen.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
