I am never hungry. I do not have cravings. Eating bothers me greatly. I had RNY on 6/19/14, and have not wanted food since. This may sound like a blessing, but it makes getting my Protein requirements near impossible. I have tried so many different things and nothing appeals to me. I truly have to force myself to eat. Any one experience this?

I am not hungry .I get my Protein through my "water".

Protein: I don't use the shake. I use Isopure liquid zero carb. each bottle contains 40gms of Protein. I divide between 1/3 to 1/2 in to the 750ml camelback sipping bottle. I fill the rest of the bottle with ice and Water and a touch of steiva. I then sip on the mixture fo 2 to 3 hours. I make about 3 of those mixtures which gets my protein and my Fluid intake. My favorite is grape and orange and coconut

I feel the same. I used to love food & cooking. I loved using fresh ingredients and cooking from scratch. It's just really weird right now. Nothing is appealing, nothing tastes good. A very strange experience. The plus side is that I've lost about 45 of the 83 pounds that I had to lose and I'm only 7 weeks out from surgery. I hope that I can stop the weight loss when it's time.

Thank u ladies. I thought it was just me. I hate food, im not hungry, and when i try to eat it makes me sick or it doesn't satisfy. I drink lots of Water. I try to do the Protein Shakes bu i have trouble with those....bloating, vomiting, gas. I think i should go back to the clear, Isopure Protein Drinks.< /p>

I also lost 44lbs in 7weeks...lol my dr told me it will slow down.

Thank you again for sharing. I needed to know i wasnt going crazy...lol and its not just me????

Eating is still painful at the point for me (1 month post op) and there is pretty much nothing I can eat without at least a few minutes of nausea afterward. It makes me sad!

I am right there with you. 3+ weeks out. Cleared to eat pureed food. Everything seems excessively heavy. The only thing that goes down well, calms my tummy and really works is Protein shakes. I do frozen blueberries, 2% milk to cover, and 1 scoop of Bariatric Eating cinnamon cappucino Protein powder (totally yummy but just discontinued).

It is weird to have such a tummy ache after tiny bites of scrambled eggs but be able to down about 6 oz of Protein shake without any trouble. I'm full, but not uncomfortable.

I guess it takes a lot of experimentation and going with what works initially. Many posts I read with similar issues are by people who have long since done exceptionally well. We need to just hang in there and learn to work with our new pouches!

HMHUGHES,

I dealt with this issue for months after surgery. I felt like every waking moment of my day revolved around what I was eating next and every time I did eat, the thought almost turned my stomach. It took about 5 months before it fully resolved. Everybody is different so it could just take time. I tried finding ways of mixing my Protein into things that were lighter or worked better for me. The big one that saved my butt was a Protein fruit sorbet that is similar to the Dole whip that is so popular at Disney parks. The recipe on my blog if you are interested. You will just need to keep expiramenting until you find that perfect combination and keep the faith. It very will could just be that your body needs more time to adjust.

While you are going through this, try to focus on all the amazing things that have been happening since surgery. What are some things you can do now that you were not able to do before surgery? I remember the first time I walked down a flight of stairs like a normal person. I sat at the bottom of the stairs and cried. Relish the moments when you are physically doing things you never thought you could do or things that you haven't been able to do in some time.

If you have any other questions or want recipe suggestions feel free to contact me at any of the links below. Good luck on the rest of your journey. I know it will be amazing.

I have been trying to focus on the positive, but I truly only like my Protein drinks. food is such an annoyance. I hope it does get better. I know I have to be patient but that is not my strong suit!

Before surgery I ate all the time....after surgery, I don't care about food. Im never hungry. I have to look at the clock to see when to eat. It like my hunger button got turned off. Kinda love it.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
