onmywaytoonederland 236 Posted October 1, 2014 Hi! This is my very first post and the beginning of a new chapter. I have jumped through most of the insurance hoops and am almost ready to make the appointment with the surgeon. My psych eval is October 14th, after that, all of the paperwork gets turned in to insurance for approval. I did have to do the three month medically supervised diet. I am so nervous/excited/anxious for this part of the journey to be over. I have no idea what the next steps are, but I believe that it is possible to have a surgery date by the end of November. Am I being too optimistic? You have all been so inspiring and helpful to this newbie. I know this is the right thing for me and no matter what the naysayers tell me, I would never be successful without this opportunity. Thanks for listening!!! BeccaE1 38 Posted October 2, 2014 I had to do the 3 month program, too. I guess it depends on your insurance, but it took less than a week for my approval. Surgery is October 21! Best of luck to you!!!!!!!
onmywaytoonederland 236 Posted October 2, 2014 Thank you! I am about ready to jump right out of my skin, I am so excited. Good luck on your upcoming surgery. I look forward to following you soon after and sharing the experience. This forum has been so helpful to me. I ready all the posts and soak up the information like a sponge. Even the setbacks and complications are learning experiences. It appears that just about everyone is thrilled with their sleeve and has no regrets. I am looking forward to being "one of the group". I am 55 years old and feel like this is really my "last chance". I am a bit apprehensive but know that I just cannot do it on my own. I truly believe that this is my saving grace....not the "EASY way out" but the "ONLY way out". I wish you all continued great success and happiness. It is time to bring our own personal joy back into our lives.
