TeacherMommy 35 Posted October 1, 2014 (edited) I just introduced "food" back. So far so good... I'm not hungry at all, but know I need to get some food in my stomach. It makes me feel a little uncomfortable, but just tender when it hits my stomach. Anyone with me on that one??? woo woo 872 Posted October 1, 2014 I just started food again too yesterday. Not having this issue, but I am already three weeks out (per my doc's plan 3 weeks of full liquids). I've also been chewing everything to death.
JamieLogical 8,713 Posted October 1, 2014 I just got moved up to soft foods on Monday and it's been great so far. I can finally get enough calories in to sustain some exercise, so I've been doing my 60-90 minutes of "brisk walking" and it's not nearly as tiring as last week. So far I haven't found any specific foods that disagree with me, just eating too much or too fast causes me discomfort and burping.
JadedMage 39 Posted October 1, 2014 I am a month out tomorrow, Im doing pretty good. I have to keep reminding myself to slow down because if it eat just one more bite, it hurts my tummy. Now that I have limited restrictions, I find that there is nothing really that I am craving.

JamieLogical 8,713 Posted October 2, 2014 Hi i have a question am just 3 day post op just had surgery 3 days ago.. does anybody know when the nausea and belly pain go away.. and I've been feeling hot flashes ad long as I put a cold rag on me it goes away. . Any answers please It's different for everyone and you may need to discuss persistent pain and nausea with your surgeon. I was on anti-nausea and pain medication, so I didn't experience much of either. I had random twinges of pain in my ab muscles for a couple of weeks, but nothing debilitating. As for nausea, I never really had any, though I did have some dry heaving on my second day post-op. It wasn't preceded by any nausea though, it just came over me like a wave. On the other hand, another patient who had surgery the same day as me with the same surgeon has had nausea and vomiting this whole month post-op. So it really is different for everyone. newlady2015 7 Posted October 2, 2014 Thanks for the reply.. I just picked up my prescription called zofran for nausea. And the hydrocodone for pain then went to the counter to pay and the hydrocodone did not cover my insurance. 100.00 bucks for that medicine.. they told me to tell the doctor to perceive me the tablets and that should cover it.. JCP 619 Posted October 2, 2014 Yes it's so weird, right? Not hunger, but I feel what I call puny and know I need some nutrition. And can I get a Amen on that chewing stuff to death. There's nothing left to swallow! getting a little sick of eggs but they work well. Sick to death of Water and Protein shakes!!! Gag!!
VSGLiz 5 Posted October 3, 2014 Hello there! I am 4 weeks out today. I'm allowed to eat pretty much whatever I want at this point, as long as I chew it really well. I tried to eat some carne asad, though, and it just would not go down. So I have to stay away from really dry things. My HUGE frustration is this ridiculous stall. I lost 12 pounds the first week.... and I haven't lost anything since. My energy is decent, though. I walk, walk, walk. I eat maybe 800 calories a day and get in all my Protein. So I am having a really hard time understanding the stall. Oh, and I wasn't hungry until this week. Now all of a sudden at 3-4 hours I get hungry. Thankfully it doesn't take much to make me full. If you are going to stray from your liquids that early on, crackers are a terrible choice! I'm not allowed to eat anything crispy or crunchy for three MONTHS post-op!
