I went for my 1 week

Post op and down 20 lbs already! I am doing well on puréed Soups like broccoli cheddar, potato, chowders.

I eat cream of wheat for Breakfast, maybe 3-4 tablespoons. I try to get three Protein Shakes in a day still, and up to about 50 ozs of fluids.

No pain, healing very well. Already feeling able to bend over better. Looking forward to less painful knees, back, and feet.

I used Dr. hodges. I was beyond happy with him and his staff. I was so scared. I have heard of your doctor, and hear great things about him too! Let me know your progress and how your feeling.

I also had mine at northwest! You are going to be fine! My best advice is get up and move pretty quickly, that air will get moving! The gas they use to expand you is the worst thing I dealt with. And it was not intolerable. I had a great nurse Katrina. She was so sweet! I only stayed 1 day. I had minimal pain after the first 12-15 hrs.

Just think! It's a new adventure! You will have a weightloss tool to help jump start the new you!

Many blessings! Keep me updated!

Congrats vsgpapi. Jaramillo1308 best of luck!!!!! I hope everything goes great for you!!!!! Im Still doing ok. Am having some issues. Not able to move much having sever pain in one incision area. I went to the dr on Thursday and the dr said that my incision was to tight that's what is causing the pain and that the stitches are dissolvable and once the dissolve the pain should go away. So I've been icing and was starting to feel a little better. So yesterday I went to my son's football game and went for my first 30 min walk. I got home I was a little sore but it felt good to get out and about. Well this morning is a different story I am in sever pain and can't hardly move. I am so tired of hurting and just want to feel better.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
