Thanks!! I bought myself the Fitbit flex it keeps me on my toes and also motivates me to stay active, I week out I felt like myself finally so I started walking for about 45 minutes but this past Friday I started the gym and I enjoy the arc trainer less pressure one knees and I can stay on that for about 55 minutes!! Believe me I have impressed myself!! I am going to continue that 3x week and light weights 2x week......I would love a buddy to communicate with because only someone that has chosen the sleeve as a tool to help themselves be a healthier person knows what I am talking and feeling about. So let's motivate each other and communicate when we can!!! You innnnnn?

Hi! I am a October 8, 2014 sleever! Nice to meet everyone. I need some suggestions for Protein. The only one I am presently using is Atkins shakes with 11 ounces and 15 grams Protein. I need more variety and don't want to keep buying brands and then not liking them. They are too expensive. I would appreciate suggestions!!

I was sleeved on the 8th. Have lost 16 lbs (total 27 from HW)!

I love Atkins Protein shakes (vanilla and choc) and add Isopure unflavored (2 scoops-50 grams protein) and I drink it throughout the day. It's a whopping 65 grams of Protein so that meets my daily req.

I was sleeved October 6th. As of last week, I've lost 140 pounds since the day of surgery. I've taken this whole process terribly seriously and now I can finally relax a little now that I am in maintenance. Of course, I know I still have to put the work in to keep the weight off, but at least I can start eating a little more.

My weight loss is surprising to me since my restriction isn't as great as others. I can easily eat a cup of anything. It's more about making smart choices and only eating during planned times. I would love to hear how others are doing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
