npurdy6 17 Posted October 2, 2014 I am one week today. I can only get two ounces of tomatoe Soup down and then have to come back half hour later for the rest. My stomach takes three hours for a Protein Drink to go down. That is 14 ounces GNC lean shake. So I guess it just depends on how your recovering. I agree all those nerves being cut does something to us. Good luck everybody!
Becky Walker Phillips 2 Posted October 2, 2014 I am now 17 days post-op. I could drink Water, etc with no problem in the beginning. I had no trouble with the shakes, and now the Soups. However, I will say the longer post-op I've become, the harder it is to eat or drink very much. I was really hungry last night and was only able to eat about 2/3 cup of Tomato Soup and 2 sugar-free popsicles. I had my first experience on Tuesday night (this week) of eating too much. I agree with all the comments about stopping eating when you FIRST feel full. It would not stay down. Lesson learned.
Newu68 8 Posted October 4, 2014 All normal. I didn't feel the full sensation until I was on soft foods. Keep drinking!
LuckyOne53 36 Posted October 4, 2014 I am testing myself on puree and mushy foods. Protein Shakes and Soups are comfort foods.
