Alfie 58 Posted October 1, 2014 Hi I am going to my first appointment tomorrow. I have the lapband and am hoping to have the revision to the sleeve. According to the nurse at my insurance, it will not take me long to be approved. Anyway, I decided to go out on a limb and buy 3 cases (online) of Isopure. It just came in and I have to say, not bad at all. Very doable. I've read that some people say its horrible but knowing I am not too fussy, I bought it before knowing what it tastes like. It is 40 grams of clear Protein per bottle and 160 calories with 0 carbs. I think it will help greatly during my post op Clear liquids stage.

Miss Mac 6,262 Posted October 1, 2014 Although I like some of the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury flavors better, the Isopure powders definitely mix better. I overbought too, and even though I am at nine months out, I still have enough for another six months at least.
Alfie 58 Posted October 1, 2014 I bought the grape, apple melon and passion...Not bad at all. I heard unjury has a chicken Soup that is very good;
JerzyTomato74 91 Posted October 2, 2014 I'm planning on ordering the variety pack of Isopure RTD from GNC which will be a total of 12 bottles. I'm going to want some Protein during my first post-op week. DH is having his surgery in January so whatever I don't use, he will. I got a tip on a You Tube video that if you can't stand the taste of it, add some Water and a packet of Crystal Light of the same flavor.
BurningButter! 5 Posted October 2, 2014 I've tried a few different kinds of Protein powders and I like some more than others but I'm keeping a little bit of everything on hand since I've read that your taste changes after the surgery. My favorite in the morning is the Chike High Protein coffee. It's very good and not gritty at all. I add some sugar free syrups for different flavor "lattes". I know I could make my own with regular coffee and unflavored protein but for now I'm just sampling as much as I can before surgery so I'll know (or think I'll know) what I can get down.
