mimi121880 33 Posted October 1, 2014 How much help did you need from some one else after surgery?
JamieLogical 8,710 Posted October 1, 2014 Pretty much none at all. I was able to fend for myself the day after I had my surgery. If I'd had pets or children to take care of, it might have been a little more difficult, but taking care of myself was no issue at all.
thesuse2000 698 Posted October 1, 2014 Same here as above. I was fine to take care of myself once home from the hospital. I stocked up in advance for all the basics I needed, but I went out and walked and did errands every day starting on day 3 (surgery being day 1, and my surgery wasn't until 5pm)
JCP 619 Posted October 1, 2014 I was alone so had no help. I had gotten everything stocked up and my laundry done. There wasn't much anyone could do. I slept a lot and took pain meds. (Had substantial pain for 2 weeks.) Sipped Water and shakes.
McButterpants 2,846 Posted October 1, 2014 My husband was with me - he was there if I needed him, but I didn't want him to wait on me. It was good for me to get up and get my own Water or whatever else I needed. It was comforting to know he was there. He walked with me when I was able. I probably could have coped by myself, but it was nice to have someone there...
Huggies123 28 Posted October 1, 2014 My mother stayed with me for two weeks. I also had my husband and kids (22 and 16). But they had work and school so my mom helped me (thank goodness). I needed her every day. I had a bad recovery (off work for a month). So I definitely needed help afterwards.
Kindle 8,667 Posted October 1, 2014 Needed no help... 2 hour flight and 5 hour drive home on my own. Came home to a driveway that needed plowing, 4 dogs, 3 cats and 2 horses that needed fed, watered and walked. (only 2 of the dogs are mine...I was pet sitting the other two ). I went grocery shopping, got my nails done, and back to work day 7. I was tired, but had no problems taking care of everything.
