Any November Sleevers for 2014 need surgery buddys?

Recommended Posts

Scheduled for November 10th, was originally scheduled for October 8th but Dr had a conference to go to and doesnt like to do surgery if he is not around after for calls etc. I guess thats a good thing!

I have bcbs-fep so only need three month prep instead of 6, no required weight loss but have lost a few pounds, just focusing on keep those few off and not eating everything insite over the next month.

Changing my way of thinking that this is not yet another diet has been the hardest for me so far.

I have to have some other gastro procedures done at the same time as a result of some gallbladder issues so no-ones knows about the sleeve part just the gastro surgery which also has liquids, soft foods two weeks out after etc.

My personal choice, I know others share what they are comfortable with and that is what I am comfortable with for now, might change after the fact.

Happy sleeving everyone

That is a good question! I just got a copy of the diet. Idk really what to do with the info, though. For instance it says SF carnation. Does it have to be carnation?

I'm a bit new here, and have surgery scheduled Nov 3, I haven't had my pre-op appointments yet. What does it mean when you guys say that you've 'started your pre-op'?

I start my pre-op diet 14 days before surgery, so October 30th will be my last day of food. I haven't gotten my Protein Shakes yet but will probably do that this weekend ???? when we say "started our pre-op" that means we've gone to a pre-op appointment and the diet we're talking about is the all Fluid diet which should have been prescribed by your surgeon!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
