wow Eddie it sounds like me and your husband are in the same boat, the only difference is he is losing weight lol I can't remember my exact level but i am in the middle of changing doctors, my original doc put me on a low dose of levathyroxin and then said we didn't need to check my thyroid anymore.:paranoid When i mentioned that to my surgeon on my last office appointment he couldn't believe it. So I have an appointment tomorrow to get that checked and hopefully regulated. I feel like mine constantly goes up and down. Did it take a long time to get his regulated? I even dropped down to under 800 calories a day and still haven't lost grrr but i know i will i just need to be patient. I also have another fill scheduled for July 3rd. I am 6ccs of a 10 cc band. I just don't know what to tell her it feels like. I can still eat without problems it just takes more chewing. Anyway, I guess i will know more in a few days:)

Hi every one, just found this thread!!! who knew?! been on the "state" threads and never ventured. I got banded 4/26 and haven't had a fill yet. My wife can't wait till I go on 7/2 for my first. she is anxious for me to get going with the loss again. been on hold for 2 wks now. I find myself "expermenting " sometimes and get hungry couple times a day. BUT , I'm anxous about the fill , do you really have to go on liquids again?? I have never experienced any problems with eating anything. this is great!!

Hi Cheri! Your fill is a day before mine, unless I go in earlier. My husband has had three fills so far. He usually does full liquids for the rest of the day, then plays it by ear the next day. But our doc let us go on solids a week post-op, so he's more "lenient" than others I've heard about. Don't let yourself get hungry. If you're still hungry after you think you've eaten as much as you should, go for the Proteins. They'll fill you up faster, but you won't be getting the carbs. And if you don't lose anything between now and then, or even if you were to gain a pound or two, the fill will take care of that. The best way to sabotage yourself is to be hungry - it's just like being on a diet - and if we could all stick to that we wouldn't be on this forum!

Happy Tuesday Gang!

This weekend I was with the GF again! I'm so happy we are spending a load of time together this summer.

We have taken to bicycling. We did 13 miles on Saturday and 20 on Sunday!!!!!! That was a stretch goal, but we made it! (My ass dragged the rest of the day, but I don't care!)

Our goal is to get up to 50 miles by August when we go to P-Town. Apparently there is a 25 mile stretch of Rails to Trails on Cap Cod we are planning on riding. Woo-Hoo!

I'm so blessed to have a sweetie who's taken up the eating right and getting fit cause to support me. I'm sure you can feel the love oozing out of me...

Hope you all are doing great too!

Hi family,

Can I vent a little? Sean and the kids left in the motorhome this morning to go to Atlanta. I'm flying up Friday night after I get off work. We're going to the GA Aquarium on Saturday, then we're all coming home in the MH on Sunday. Here's my beef. I wanted to spend a little time with Sean last night considering I'll be sleeping alone for the next three nights. But NOOO! He had a client call who just had to have her Crackberry set up for remote access LAST NIGHT! It was 9:00 pm and he didn't get done until almost 11:00! I was livid!!! Needless to say, it went downhill from there and I wound up stress eating. That's never been a good thing, but especially since I haven't had nearly as much restriction the last few days. Things weren't any better this morning, and he left without so much as a goodbye kiss. Suffice it to say I am having a shitty week and don't really expect it to get any better. His company is very successful, and I don't want him to sell it or anything. But those damned clients already take up so much of our time, then when shit like this happens I lose it.

Ok, rant over. For now...

Juli~

That sounds so fun!!! I wish I could spend a lot of time too. She left yesterday and I wont see her for 3 weeks, except to take her to airport on the 29th. It totally sucks. But, we will survive this...we are strong!

The bike ride sounds fun. I like the gym and she is a runner, so we don't get to work out together.

In case I haven't told you, (and I've told everyone under the sun) today is the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!! So freakin excited. There is a huge party today for the teachers, where the food and the booze is a plenty. I will try to be good. I am not gonna drink though, if I do I will want a ciggy...and if I have a ciggy...I can't/won't work out. Ever read that story, "If You Give A Mouse a Cookie"? That is me...if you give Pamela drink...lol, I crack myself up!

Anywho, have a great day!

Eddie,

My advice, take a deep breath, and call Sean and tell him you love him and to travel safely. All this petty shit is just in your way now...this will pass. Sometimes we have to make the first move...call him...say your sorry...and tell him you love him!

xoxo

Eddie-

That is horrible! But what can you do now?

The bitch ruined your evening (I'm not talking about Sean either). And now you can either let it fester and pop more bad food in your mouth or you can say enough of that and you're in control now.

I like the control method myself.

You can control how long you and Sean are angry with each other. Pam said call him. I agree, make the first move.

You can contol how you react to clients calling late. Go for a walk, drink a bottle of Water, write a nasty email and NEVER send it...there are ways to express your emotion that don't involve eating.

You can, when you are both more calm, talk with Sean about client boundaries, what they are and what can be expected when they get crossed. (Because they always will).

And, bitch ass bitches about your ruined evening. You've got a lifetime of some sweet man time, it was only one night...I know, you really wanted it and it got dissed for a client, but you do have him forever.

Kisses,

Who would think that doubling our time, from 3 nights a month to 6 would mean a lot? LOL. I know what you mean though. We are years away from being together every night. But it's like a honeymoon on the weekends we get together!

Our kids left at the school on Friday last week. There's a calm around here now. The teacher's last day was yesterday. They say the three best things about being a teacher is June, July and August! HA. Stay away from the booze!

:)

Eddie, I know how you feel about having your quality time being interrupted by the business. Sandy is a realtor last night her phone rang at 9:45 I blew who the He... calling this late at night? Thank goodness she did let it go to voice mail. A few years ago when things was popping the phone rang all the time from 5am until 10pm it was crazy.

We have two more days of school then I will have a drink. Yes, I am going to treat my self to something really nice. I am thinking a mudslide. yummmmmmm.

Have a good evening everyone.

Morning everyone,

Juli~ I know it is hard for us, but honestly, it is worth it...sounds like that for you too. She is heading north today to play Army for the next 2 weeks, so even our phone calls will change.:)

Well friends, I must confess. I got drunk last night. As you know it was the last day of school:clap2:...and there is this party, man o man...we all well, um, misbehave. Yes, folks these are where your taxes go to. I had 6 shots of Patron tequilla, and a margarita. I actually feel great today...thats what you get when you drink 80$ booze. The only bad thing is that I had about 5 ciggys too. That is why I don't drink, I am just gonna want a ciggy. Bad girl, but damn, I had a blast! Taking today off from everything, back at the gym tomorrow!

Eddie, how are you doing? Please give us an update!

Brooke~ thanks for clearing that up. I know what you mean about the "out" life. I am looking forward to her retirement...although I know it will be hard for her.

Have a great day everyone! Lucy...how are you feeling??? Keep us posted!

Hey everyone,

Thanks for your kind words of support.

Eddie -- I totally understand your situation. My husband has a CRAZY job where he leaves at 6am and comes home anywhere between 7 and 10pm. He is only required to be there from 9 to 6, but he works more hours because that's how it goes in his field. His crackberry rings until 2am during the week and he often takes calls at 8am on Sundays! This bothers me, but it's also the only thing we really argue about. At the end of the day, the arguments happen, and are sometimes necessary, but they don't make anyone feel better and they don't bring you closer together (until you have great makeup sex, woo hoo!).

All this to say, I agree with the others. Call him and tell him how much you love him and find a way (other than food) to let out the stress. Then, when you are back together, make sure he gives you all the oral pleasure that he owes you for being such a jerk. :)

Great makeup sex...yeah, right. He's probably the least stereotypical Gay man you would ever meet, but he's so like a woman in that if he's mad or upset about something he "can't get in the mood" to have sex. Not me, I'm a typical man. "Hear that freight train? Oh, it's a tornado coming? Well, just a quickie then!" :biggrin1:

Anyway, I haven't called him yet. He's going to expect me to apologize and I just can't bring myself to do it. I feel like I was 100% justified to get mad about it. Of course, he said that the time we could have spent together after he got done with the biotch was wasted by my rant. Maybe, who knows? But I was (and still am) pissed about the whole thing.

Anyway, moving on to more pleasant subjects, I moved up the date for my first fill. It was supposed to be 7/3 but I called yesterday and they moved it to 6/21. The last few days I've been able to eat waayyy too much, and I've tried to really watch what I'm eating, but when I'm still hungry it's really hard to not eat something. As least I've been pretty good about watching the carbs (with the exception of my stress eating yesterday) so I don't think I'm going to gain anything <fingers crossed>. I'm going to the gym tonight after work and I'm planning on putting in a little extra time on the treadmill.

Sweetie, you know your man better than any of us. It doesn't sound like the situation warrants your apology over his, but my point was that sometimes it's better to reach out and keep the peace. I don't think you should call him and apologize for something he did, but call him and let him know you love him. Even though you are angry.

What the hell do I know...I'm an artist, not a therapist! :biggrin1:

I just happen to have an amazing husband who handles these situations better than me so it makes me feel like I know something about handling arguments with the significant other. Here, have a hug. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
