Have to share with you all a NSV, I went and tried new clothes today, get this a SIZE 14, I have not been a 14 ever, at least I don't remember ever being a 14, I think I skipped right over it.

OK and when it comes to partners ladies I am sorry to tell you that I have the Diamond, we will be celebrating 15 years, going to spend the day at Catalina Island. We both have never been there so we thought we would go and check it out.

Hope every one is having a great weekend.

Wow, congratulations on the weight loss. It must be fun going shopping again and buy things you couldn't before. As for the 15 years, ya'll are awesome. Maybe you be together forever.

Ok you guys, I just can't stand not knowing any longer, what the h.....is NSV??? I'm feeling very stupid and out of touch!

Dez, that is really great, both the years and the size! I remember I was a 16 for about a week when I was about 17, I had just lost a bunch of wt. and was so happy! Naturally, it was short lived. But we'll all be there again. you two sound so cute together, I got 14 years, and they get better every year. Have fun!

Hmmm, let's see...

was banded on 15 Aug. 07...still hungry as ever.......getting down and out, and worried. Not like I think Gay or Lesbian folks would understand better than anyone else, but, this is my comfort zone. I hope to get to know some of you well enough that you can inspire me to be ME.

Thanks everyone, Cheri NSV is a short for Non-Scale Victory.

Andigump, everyone is welcome here, once you get a fill that hunger will go away.

Hi MsDad/Eddie, I've read some of your posts on the Gay, Lesbian et. all thread and you seem to have a great sense of humour. I'm one of those straight people (probably more asexual/nonsexual-whichever it is-just ask my husband) but from what I managed to read, I liked the community you set up. Because your thread has been so successful, I can't read through the whole thing, so I wonder how you've made out with your band. I hope very well and that you and your DH are having a hoot in life!

thanks Dee, never would have got that one!

Andi, Dee is right , don't get discouraged. I was starving before my 1st fill, just getting it "installed" is like buying a new tool, the fills turns on the power! BUT it may take a couple to really start to work. My 1st helped some, the 2ed really made a difference:whoo: . I am scheduled for a 3rd on the 10th, but I'm a little nervous about it because there is a real learning curve to changing your eating habits and the types of food you can eat, not to mention a few very unpleasent side affects at first. didn't really notice any on the 1st but the 2ed was a bit rough! got to say though that hunger isn't one of them! they are getting a little better so I'm sure I'll go for the 3rd. Hang in there, the 3 lbs will surely come off!

Edd , good luck !!!

Good Morning Family~

Edd...thinking of you this morning! Welcome to bandland baby!

Well, first day of school! AAAAHHHH...will the fun ever end? Have a great day everyone! Think of all the sad little teachers going back to work today (just kidding).

Juli~ 56 miles on the bike? Are you kidding me? My ass (and some other parts in the area) would be screaming. Good for you girl...wow!

Pamela,

Yeah Baby, it was fantastic. It took me 4:06 of actual time on the bike. But how unreal is that to ride 56 miles. I don't see me doing a century -100 miles- this season, but I will by May next year.

My girl parts are just fine, my knee gave me trouble....but did I post the bike stuff on the thread? Are you stalking me? Just kidding. Thanks for the opportunity to brag. I'll be posting my 6 month pictures this weekend, that will give me another opportunity...cuz you know, I'm smokin'!

XO

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
