Dee, Mine are burps! at least hick-ups are kinda cute! I sound like I just crawled out of a bar room, and I hate beer! (love mud slides, think that would go down? just kiddin....)

I'm SOooo glad all is well with you two love birds, Eddie.

Thanks you two!

So far no complaints bandwise...allthough I'm still doinds liquids

This sholder pain could really use to go away any day now. I don't even bother using my left arm any more because if the pain strikes hard I end up dropping whatever I was holding...and I'm not a fan of getting woken up during sleep.< /p>

Besides that, I've basically been dealing with the emotional stuff, realising that this really will be a life change, and that I can't rely on food for comfort anymore.

But I mean, it was gunna be this, or I would have kept gaining weight, getting more depressed, and then who knows...

My mom has been getting alot of late night calls...I'll be glad to go home soon!

welcome ConSafo ! My shoulder pain was the worst of it all - but that's just about gone now after a month. Chin up !

Dawn I wish your brother the best of luck with everything. I am gay & the dad to a beautiful 3 & 1/2 year old little boy. His mother & I did everything at home with a specimen jar & a siringe. It worked twice - first pregancy ended in miscarrage but the 2nd ended with a wonderful little boy. It took 12 months before it was successful...then 9 months later .. Cooper !

He stays with my partner & I every weekend... and when his mother is away for work... currently she's away all week. I pick him up from daycare every day & we also have our holidays together. Last Christmas it was Fiji.

We all have a great relationship that works well.

So best wishes to him & you !

Eddie,

glad everything is on the mend for you & Sean !

Yesterday I also got some food stuck...but I just had a mouthful of Water to wash it down...it hurt & that helped straight away.

Tonight I chewed everything much more. ;)

You'll have to tell me all about your fill as soon as it's done - since you are getting it so far in front of me.

I think i am able to eat everything then i get pain & have to slow down. So looking forward to the fill.

Have a good week everyone.

I think it's interesting and great how we all make our families. My partner at the time, and I looked at using a known doner, but the men we asked had different expectations than us. So we went to the bank. The first time worked but we miscarried. Try #19, at $500 a try, finally took! Zoe was born in 2001!

My ex and I raise her 50/50. She stays at one house M/T/F/S/S the other W/Th one week then we rotate. We talk everything through, she has the same style bed at both houses. It's really quite nice.

Next year we are all taking her to Disney. We being both moms and our girlfriends. I think we need to borrow a kid to keep Zoe company too.

She starts Kindergarten in the fall, so I should be regaling you all with those tales.

Happy Tuesday my banded buddies.

ConSafo-Welcome. You'll do great!

Chris

I'm assuming you're talking to me--the Columbus mention and all.

If not, oops. I didn't get any PMs lately. They must be messing with this site. So many things change on here. Like now I've constantly need to log on, it's no longer automatic.

All is groovey in Columbus. ;)

Kity, money no option...PARIS!!

Okay, on a more realistic note

Toronto would be nice, but it's getting hot here(i'm in TO) and will be boiling in august.

Are you into natury things in a very beautiful and relaxing enviroment? If so, Tofino on Vacouver Island(BC, lol). As a Vancouver native I think that's the most beautiful place I've ever seen in my life(well, besides parts of Europe). There's this really really REALLY nice hotel there(Tofino Accommodation | Prime Tofino Whale Watching | Wickaninnish Inn that's what it really looks like!). And the town is the cuttest thing ever, surrounded by old growth trees and little coffee shops to tuck away in. It's pretty easy to get to, fly to Vancouver or Seattle and then hop on another flight right into Tofino

I LOVE Toronto! And something tells me it won't be any hotter there than Palm Springs!

I hope everyone here is doing well. I had my post-op exam with the doc today and he said everything looked good. He did reprimand me for swimming on Sunday, but siad that I could still walk every day. Maybe I'm a little too eager to get the exercise going...other than that, everything is going well. My throat is mostly healed and I'm just trying to get through the full liquids to the mushie stage...I can't wait until I can have some mushies ;)

Woot Woot PRIDE

I'm flying into Chicago on Friday for PRIDE with my honey and her pals. She lives in MI, but is from Chicago. They've got the weekend planned! Stuff to do all day Saturday, Breakfast on Sunday and then on to watch the parade.

I'm so STOKED!!!! I had to go and buy new clothes for the weekend, you know, because a girl needs to look her best and everything I had was too big!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
