Surgical scars

Recommended Posts

I was just looking at my scars before I got in the shower and noticed that the belly button scar has absolutely no color to it and if you didn't know it was there, you wouldn't even see it.

My other 5 scars are red and so much more obvious.

Is this the case with anyone else?

How you doing Pik? Are you able to eat and drink ?

Scaring is a hard one to pin point. I had a C-section and the scar was red for a long time. Maybe even a year but now you would have look very closely. I have a mid white skin tone. I tan easily and have a little olive undertone. My daughter whom we call snow white (pink undertone) scars with the whitest of scars and they are very visible even 5 years later

I'm doing ok. I have been able to eat and drink, but I still need the endoscopy. I will have that this week. I can't wait to get to a place where I won't be going through all of this and life will be normal...as it can be after this surgery.

I was worried about you. They'll figure it out. The endoscopy will help and this too shall pass. But it is a bummer, I agree!

I went into the surgeons office today and demanded they get me in for the endoscopy. They have been a week telling me they are trying to schedule me. The dr came out and sat down and talked to me and got me in tomorrow morning. So I am scheduled to be under at 730 am tomorrow.

Way to go Pik, you tell them. There are times in our lives that we have to stand up for ourselves and this was one such moment. You did it! MY HERO

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
