September banders

Recommended Posts

I was banded on sept 2 just checking to see how everyone is doing that was banded around the same time. I'm stiil learning my band . I learn something new everyday . One thing I know it's hard to for me to get all my Protein in. But what works for me is when I wake up in the morning that's when I can drink the most so I try to drink my Protein Shake then. According to my scale I've lost 8lbs since surgery . But all scales r different so I'll wait till I get my first fill on oct 1st. So how's everyone else doing ??

Hi, I had my surgery on Sept.4. I go for my first fill tomorrow and I'm sorta nervous about it LOL. I have been doing really good and I'm not having any problems getting my Protein or eating soft foods. I actually feel like I could eat more?? I'm hoping the fill will help with that. I haven't gotten sick once on anything I've eaten so I'm keeping my fingers crossed everything keeps going smoothly. According to my scale, I've lost 14 1/2 lbs since surgery but I'll see for sure tomorrow :) GOOD LUCK!!!

I was banded 9/5. I have lost 10lbs since surgery, for a total of 27.5 since the start of my pre-op diet. I don't have any liquid in my band, but still feel restriction. I should be getting my first fill next week sometime.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
