BloomingLotus 179 Posted September 27, 2014 The GNC Total Lean shakes were recommended by my nutritionist and in case anyone uses them... They're on sale now- buy one get one 50% off (at least in NY!) I wanted to experiment with some Protein before my 2 week pre-op to find one I like, and I've tried the chocolate and strawberry and so far, not too bad! Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted September 27, 2014 I like the orange.
BloomingLotus 179 Posted September 28, 2014 I had never tried them and was buying by the case to save money so I was too wimpy to try the orange. I don't know how I feel about orange-flavored beverages! I'm actually really impressed at how full they kept me.

Kindle 8,667 Posted September 28, 2014 When you can eat solids again, the GNC Lean Bars are pretty decent, too. I like the banana, strawberry yogurt and blueberry yogurt. I hate the Gummy gooey texture of most Protein Bars (including the infamous, beloved Quest bars) but the GNC bars are textured like rice crispie treats. BloomingLotus 179 Posted September 28, 2014 @@Kindle thanks for the tip! I'm allergic to peanuts so I can't have most Protein bars, but I will look into the ingredients
Kindle 8,667 Posted September 28, 2014 I don't see peanuts listed in the ingredients, but there's a big black warning on the package that says "contains soy, milk and peanuts". I think a lot of the Quest bars contain almonds or walnuts, but not peanuts. They are a good source of Protein and fiber...I'm just not a fan of the texture.
