Surgery date Sept. 30th

Recommended Posts

I am scheduled at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow. Feeling like I am not ready.

To make things worse people I work with are acting like I am going through some horrible thing. Really?

I am so excited, I get to have my surgery on Sept. 30th. This is day seven of my liquid diet and it is hard but I know it will be with it in the end. My pre-surgery journey has gone so fast it almost doesn't seem real. From the 1st time I saw the doctor to surgery will be 62 days. Anyone else Sept. 30th?

goodluck today!!

I wanted to check in with my fellow Sept. 30th surgery date people.

How did it go? My surgeon said the operation was a success, but oh am I in pain right now. It hurts so bad.

The little itty bitty pain pails he gave me just take the edge off, they don't really help with the pain.

I didn't know it would hurt this much.

Does anybody know how long this pain lasts?

Oh and I had to go home with a drain stitched into me. A real pain to empty and care for. It is there until next Wednesday.

Thanks all.

Well, my actual RNY was a success but I am still currently in the hospital. After surgery my blood pressure and heart rate went very high. After several test and another surgery to verify there was not a leak it was determined I have a small blood clot in my lung. I am on blood thinners and the doctors are very confident the clot will b absorbed back into y body. So I am hoping to get to go home within the nxt few days.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
