Jen - a work in progress 178 Posted September 24, 2014 As I get closer to my surgery date (Oct 23rd) I am finding that I am craving more foods that I haven't really had a desire for in months, if not years. I think I've had a month of food funerals and that's pretty sad to admit. I know it's all mental and I need to stop it. I was thinking about doing a diet of 2 Protein Shakes a day and a healthy lunch with Snacks, just to see if I can kick these food cravings. I need to get it together asap. I have gained 5+ lbs since my visit with my surgeon and the dietician visit. I go for my next preop appt on Oct 9th and I prefer to be back down to my last weight before then. It'll save me from having to explain the extra 5+ lbs lol
BeagleLover 1,020 Posted September 25, 2014 I just came back from a bariatric support group. One woman mentioned having similar cravings. The NUT asked her to write down what she is eating so it can be gone over to see if there is any Vitamin or mineral that she was not getting. Very interesting to me that this is a possible cause for cravings!
Jen - a work in progress 178 Posted September 25, 2014 I think it's more of a mental thing. I take a Multivitamin daily, a hair skin and nails Vitamin, Calcium + d, and liquid Vitamin D (I was vit d deficient so I've been taking 10,000 units a day for the past 5 months or so). I'd be surprised if I were still short on the vitamin and minerals with that load of Vitamins plus food.< /p>
nikki9 70 Posted October 19, 2014 I'm having the same problem. I haven't had more than 1 soda a month in years. I really don't like it except during my cycle and I usually don't drink it then. As soon as they told me no more soda I have had one almost everyday. Crazy!
