I just ripped my pants. At work. My plus size dress pants could no longer contain my thighs. I don't think the rip is super noticeable because it's on the inner thigh, but I'm so embarrassed! This is further confirmation I've made the right decision.

Feeling a ton of emotions right now and none of them good...

Has anyone else had an eye-opening moment like this?

Been there and done that. I ripped my pants stem to stern and had to tie 2 jackets together so I could get home. So embarrassing. But that won't happen again because I am on the road out this weight mess.

I hid in my office for the rest of the day and now I'm waddling home hoping that everyone else on the subway doesn't notice!

Was getting on the tea cup ride with my daughter @ Dorney Park, and couldn't get the seat belt around me - the attendant asked me to get off if I couldn't put on the stupid belt on this kiddie ride. Had to call her father over to get on with her to avoid screaming toddler. Definitely dampened my mood for the rest of the day. More reason to get this done!!! Don't want her to feel Mommy can't do certain things with her, or doesn't have the energy, or feel embarrassed.

It stinks that we all have gone through these craptastic and embarrassing life moments, but it's great to know we are all here for the same reason and are making changes to improve our health.

Time for some new pants! Maybe I'll get some shoes to help ease the pain of my traumatic experience :)

Don't give up. A week before my surgery I sat on an airplane where the seatbelt barely closed and where my thighs trickle under the arm rest. Poor guy next to me had to deal with it. It was at that moment when I knew there was no turning back.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
