Please tell me this stall will pass ( I know it will, but I need some good vibes!)

So UGH. I'm 3 weeks post-surgery and have been the same weight for the past 10 days. I know this is normal. I totally get that. However, I'm starting to have some wavering faith. Any advice to keep it all positive would be so greatly appreciated! :) Thank you!!

But you have already lost quite a bit, since surgery, right? That's awesome! Your body just needed to take a break. And, while the scale may not be changing, your body is. That's the best part.

Keep the faith!

My advice, stay away from the scale for a few days, follow your program and then weigh yourself maybe on Monday.

I'll bet you'll see a surprise.

Good luck

The same thing happened to me. You're going to have many of the stalls so don't fret it. I am now 6 weeks out had at least 3 stalls. To get my metabolism up I increased my activity I did some light weight lifting I also did some cardio and drink a lot of green tea. It only took one session of cardio and one session of mild weight lifting on my arms to get me back on track. If you do nothing to change the style will eventually and if you'd like to speed up so that it will end sooner then change up your routine a little bit.

You're definitely going to stall. Your body has just been through a major transformation! Like another poster said, it needs a break. It has to get use to the idea of what you have done. I went through quite a few stalls, especially early on. I know its hard to stay faithful, but you will get through it! Good Luck!

Thanks everyone! I had my husband put the scale in our scary garage so I won't be tempted to grab it, and I'm just going to chill out and not weigh for awhile. :) Hopefully that will help, along with mixing up the routine! I appreciate the advice and support!

I agree I am 4 months post opt and stalls will continue just stay focus and eat healthy, drink your Water and Protein and exercise, your bode will begin to loose weight again and remember just because the scale is not moving does not mean you are not loosing inches good luck.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
