Iluvharleys 15 Posted October 13, 2004 My doctor told me that is old age creeping in:D Didn't you just have a birthday? Just couldn't help myself, but that really is what the doc told me.
DeLarla 22 Posted October 13, 2004 Yes, I just had a birthday where I turned a measly little 42. I'm not 92. Gosh, if this is how I feel at 42, I'm not sure I'll even see 52!
Iluvharleys 15 Posted October 13, 2004 I couldn't help myself! Roflmao:D Let me tell you, you will feel that way long before you hit 92! The older I get the more pains I discover I have. You probably have a bug or something, the flu is starting up around here.
DeLarla 22 Posted October 13, 2004 No, I don't have a bug. I feel like that every day. I watched my friend wake up one morning, and she's the same way, but she has Lupus. I wonder if it's my autoimmune disease. I think my Vet needs to put me down.
Iluvharleys 15 Posted October 13, 2004 Maybe that port is causing you some infection in your body or something. You need to go to that doc. asap. Take care of yourself!
DeLarla 22 Posted October 13, 2004 Like I said, my vet just needs to put me down. Goodbye, cruel world!
New Hope 37 Posted October 13, 2004 Well, considering the alternative (death), I'll take my arthritis, try to exercise (that really helps) as much and when I can, and be thankful that I have arms and legs to use. Janie Jackson 0 Posted October 13, 2004 Hey Marie When did you have your surgery? About exercise I have a appointment with Lady USA Fittness tonight. Maybe I will join. I am curious what exercises you can do that will be safe on your port?
New Hope 37 Posted October 14, 2004 Janie, really just biking and walking. That's been great for cardio., thighs, and calves. I need to start doing some abs. My surgery was 5/26/04.
DeLarla 22 Posted October 14, 2004 I'm going to walk in the morning. I have no clue what's going on with the pain in my feet & legs, but if Marie says walking helps with arthritis, then that's what I'll do. Actually, I'm usually really good about getting in a real good walk several times a week, but I lost so much sleep last week that my bod is really mad at me. Penni60 45 Posted October 14, 2004 I was able to get in 30 min on the recumbent bike. Even though it bothered my port area each time I did a turn on the bike. OH WELL!! Got that exercise in though. LOL!!
live2canoe 1 Posted October 14, 2004 I'm not sure what to do with you people. When I started this thread, I mostly just wanted to be accountable to someone else with my exercise, and to be able to share my successes and disappointments and to have someone to kick me in the a** when I was being lazy. My intent was not to have anyone working out, irritating their belly when their ports are hot and red, or feeling obligated to walk on already aching feet and legs. My Goodness - moderation in everything! Isn't that what we're supposed to be learning with our bands? I don't want to hear about anyone else exercising while injured, hurt, ill or otherwise disabled! Don't make me get my stick!
nightingale2u 42 Posted October 14, 2004 OH dear... looks like there is going to be more bonking of heads! Did my 2.5 mile walk lastnight... going to go play with the the weights in a little bit. Tis cloudy and chilly today... if it rains the walk is out... but at least I'll be pumped up thanks to Weider. I used to work for Betty Weider's brother Will... lemme tell ya... they airbrush the hell out of her pics in the Muscle and Fitness magazine. Her body may look great... but in the end age gets us all even if we are married to a fitness guru! Getting older sucks... period. On that positive note... I think I'll go put my teeth in and Ben Gay myself from head to toe and workout. Darcy
