Any One Up For an Exercise Challenge?

Recommended Posts

I am dying here!!! You guys crack me up!!!

Leatha- so glad you were able to get to Curves with the rain and all. Now, that is commitment. I always feel great when I am there. It's a blast. I am trying to make myself go at least 5 times a week.

OOPS, I need to moderate my own post! I was only talking about flabby upper arms and what type of exercise will tone them! I promise, no sexual innuendos! And the only rocks I have are in my head!

I go to bed early and y'all have a party! I just can't win! lol

Laurie - I have lost 20 pounds, but will probably gain a little back when I get put on more food, hopefully TODAY! Thanks for asking.

I think I need some movies of all this stuff y'all are talking about!

Betty, Would that count as exercise? You know watching those kind of movies. If so that MIGHT be something I can do! :laugh

Well, now that you mention it, I have heard if you imagine doing the exercises your brain thinks you did and you gain the benefits! Now, I bet we could all come up with some good images of that! Yup, I think a GOOD movie might just do the trick! :)

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I ran 3 laps in the gym with the kids. I did snake drills which dealt with running. We also did line drills which we ran from one end of the gym to the next. I did 20 situps, 10 juming jacks, alot of different types of stretches and some pilates.

Cut it out, Selecia, you're making me tired! What are snake drills? They sound like something the Crocodile Hunter keeps in the shed.

Marie, if I can stop laughing long enough to find a photo of that triceps exercise somewhere, I'll try to post it . . .

I missed exercising yesterday because we were canning tuna. :guess It seems I always have an excuse. :) But tightening all those jar lids should help with the bat wings under my arms.

I bought bat wings for my halloween costume -- really -- I should have just used the ones I have. :laugh I actually am looking forward to dressing up -- showing off I guess, which is so NOT like me. I am the stereotypical shrinking violet in a crowd, trying to find a job to do so no one will give me undue attention. That is certainly changing!

I did a double lap around the park during yesterday morning's walk. This challenge requires me to exercise Monday, Wednesday and Friday. So far, so good. I don't worry about weekends since I'm so active cleaning & riding my motorcycle... as long as I keep moving.

Wow, Becky, 69 pounds! That is amazing! Canning is a lot of work and definitely counts as exercise! I'm with you on that "shrinking violet" thing. (Take a zero, instead of giving an oral report.) But this forum is bringing me out of it. Kind of scary, isn't it?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
