It will happen. Are you keeping a food journal? There is something magical about actually writing it down. Makes it work better somehow.

Anyway, we all lose at different rates. If you feel concerned, talk to your nut and show her your food journal so she/he can figure out if there is any adjustments to be made.

But just keep on following the plan and I guarantee it will work.

I'm sorry you're frustrated with your loss. I agree about tracking... I can never "keep it in my head" but track everything I eat. Not real hard to do when you don't eat much.

Are you focusing on Protein? I find if I'm eating 60 grams of Protein a day, I don't have much room for anything else. The only other things I eat are fruit, veggies and maybe half a whole wheat tortilla wrapped around some lunch meat or Beans. I usually have a piece or two of fruit a day or a small serving (few bites) of a veggie. Almonds are my best friend... Either have 14 as a snack or sometimes 28 as a "meal". Low sugar (less than 10) fat free Greek yogurt is also a staple. That can make a meal for me or the yogurt with the 14 almonds.

I also agree with sharing the food diary with your NUT and/or doctor.

If you're doing everything right, the weight will have to fall off. You're exercising a lot -- my NUT told me to add some carbs in when I'm heavy exercising. That's when I added in the fruit and veggies to the diet (around week 5). It's important for the quick energy you need for exercise.

You don't really have the option of giving up, so stick with it and look to your support team (doctor, NUT) to help you see if there's anything they can suggest. You can do this!

I use food Tracker. I also use Map My Walk. It keeps track of calories burned, but I track my food on the Food Tracker App. My nut recommended I eat between 800-1000 calories per day, and I'm 5'10, so I typically eat 1000. Some days I want to eat everything in sight, and really have to work on my head hunger. Other days I don't want anything. Good luck! If you follow your guidelines you will lose! Hang in there!

Ok friends, I'm at week 11 and have only lost 23 pounds. It's extremely difficult to get into the nutritionist at our program. I was supposed to have a 3 month check up with her but it will be February before I can get in to see her. I eat anywhere from 600-900 calories a day. I always get my Protein, (mostly from drinks) and I get my Water. I'm doing 30 minutes of cardio at least 2 days a week and I do a 30 minute routine of free weights 2/3 times a week.

Any guesses as to what I'm doing wrong. I do not eat carbs hardly at all. I don't have any issues swallowing and no food has seemed to bother me so far, I've tried everything but steak and fried stuff. Over Christmas I did eat a few pieces of fudge and a few Cookies (no dumping) but after Christmas I haven't eaten any sweets.

Without seeing exactly what you are eating, it's really hard to say.

Are you drinking all your Water?

Are you stopping drinking your Water 30 minutes before your meal and then not drinking at all with your meal and start drinking it again 30 minutes after your meal? This is key.

Are you keeping a food journal? This is magical and the sheer act of tracking your food seems to help you lose weight!

Are you getting in enough Protein? Keep track of the grams of Protein, stop counting calories.

Are you sneaking food tht you shouldn't? I know I do and that's when I don't do well, even though it's not much.

Are you eating slowly and chewing your food like crazy?

These are some of the things that help. Sometimes upping how many grams of protein actually helps you lose weight a bit. How many grams did your NUT say to have?

Best of luck.

I don't think your doing anything wrong. 23 lbs in 11 weeks is amazing!!!!

I am 18 weeks out and just hit 42 lbs. Don't compare your weight loss to anyone else. You will get there just give it time.

Not sure what your starting weight was, but we are same height - I was 265 the day I had surgery - was at 257 a few days later. Since then I average about 10lbs a month (now weigh 207 as of this morning). Not a lot when you compare to a lot of people on here, but for me it is perfectly fine. I am not losing so fast that my body cant keep up with it. And to be honest I don't exercise other than walking at lunch time each day. I know I would drop more if I did, but I just really don't have the time much less the energy to give! lol. Stalls are something I panicked over for the first few months ( I am 6 months out) I just knew I was going to be the "one" who the surgery didn't work for! But after several days of no movement on the scale - then WHAM I would drop lbs like crazy. You will hear this over and over again - EVERYBODY is different and will lose weight at different rates.

Don't panic and try not to do like I did and weigh every day! lol I couldn't stay off the scale! For the first few months your body has some adjusting and healing to do. Don't stress it! Just do the best you can with what your doc said to do and before you know it you will be buying new clothes!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
