julznoelle 0 Posted September 22, 2014 I just had the vertical sleeve surgery this past Wednesday, 5 days out, and I have had diarrhea for the last 3 days. I know this is normal since all I'm taking in is liquids but is there something I can take or something that let's up this pain? Also, does anyone else experience random pain, almost like hunger pains, that start at the front of their stomach all the way to the back and through their throat? It almost feels like really bad heartburn or something but I know it's not that. Thanks!
Chelly 364 Posted September 22, 2014 Are you taking prescribed or over the counter acid reducing meds? If you aren't you should be for the first two to three months after surgery. This goes for bypass and sleeve patients. I'm not sure if this applies to lapband patients. Talk to your surgeon right away about this and let them know how you are feeling. Take care and much success to you on your journey to better health.
James Marusek 5,244 Posted September 22, 2014 I had RNY gastric bypass surgery and discovered that right after the surgery I became lactose intolerant. Any type of milk product would set me off within minutes. This condition lasted for a couple months and then disappeared.
