Any Georgia sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I haven't been here in so long I don't know where to start, but I'm a GA sleever so I guess here is as good as anywhere!

Just checking out Bariatric Pal after a long time away. I was sleeved in Dec 2012 in MX with Dr. Alvarez. Reached my goal in 18 months. Now sitting at around 35lbs under that goal.

Maintaining my loss, feeling good except I really need to be more diligent on my Vitamins and Iron. Feeling very small... and still have lots of good restriction. WLS was the very best thing I could ever do for myself. So happy I did it.

Excellent!!! What do you contribute your success to? I read many posts from people struggling with weight gain and not feeling the restriction after some time. I am four months out and worried about putting the weight back on. Any advice for long term success?

I was sleeved June 12 at Northside with Dr. Michael Williams. I live in Roswell. :)

Hi, Felicia- I am scheduled this month with Dr. Williams. Were you happy with him? I'm getting nervous because his preop instructions seem so relaxed!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
