lexi710 8 Posted September 22, 2014 Hi everyone, I am located in a Northwest suburb of Baltimore, in Baltimore County. I was sleeved in November 2012 and credit a lot of my success to my online support group here; however, would like an in person support group, as well. The only one I found is in Baltimore City and the 95 corridor... very difficult to get to from this side of the city on a weeknight. I'm hoping that there are more of us on this side of the city that would like to get together. Ping me or post if you're interested and we can find a location convenient to us all. I would love to lead the group. Thanks, Lexi
jessiquoi 623 Posted September 22, 2014 hi, @@lexi710! i'm in Perryville, in Cecil County. i'm still pre-op. i go to monthly meetings at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace. I'm not sure if that's near you or not... there's also one in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. i'm still kinda new to MD, and i have no idea where you are in comparison to me. are we close? roundisashape 712 Posted September 22, 2014 Hi Lexi, Still pre-op, but not far from you - north/northwest Baltimore. I wanted to attend the Hopkins support groups but there's no way I can get all the way over there by the time they start!
lexi710 8 Posted September 22, 2014 Thank you @jessiquoi There really isn't a hospital in close proximity that offered the support groups and I can't haul it over to the East side during rush hour. @roundisashape Would the Timonium area or Hunt Valley be difficult for you to get to? roundisashape 712 Posted September 22, 2014 Not at all - I actually work in Timonium!
lexieverafter 0 Posted September 22, 2014 Awesome! Well, at least we have the two of us. We could get together and try to grow the group. :-)

dhorvath 1 Posted October 4, 2014 I am 7 months post op and am interested in having a face to face support. I live in Towson, MD and am close to Timonium.
lexi710 8 Posted October 6, 2014 And now there are three What works best for everyone? Weekday or weekend? I was thinking that we could start out monthly.
roundisashape 712 Posted October 6, 2014 Weekdays are usually best for me - I don't come up this way much except during the work week, but I could (it's not that far away, I'm just lazy, lol)
dhorvath 1 Posted October 6, 2014 As I am retired, week days or weekends work for me.
lexi710 8 Posted October 6, 2014 I work from home, so I'm fairly flexible during the week, as well. What about a weekday during lunch time? We could meet some place like Baltimore coffee & Tea until/ if we get a larger group. They have some quieter tables to the side. Or we could try the library group study room. The only downside there is that you cannot reserve it - it's a first come situation. Any other suggestions?
roundisashape 712 Posted October 6, 2014 Actually, Baltimore coffee & Tea sounds PERFECT to me, and I'm usually good for a lunch meeting. Wednesdays, most Thursdays and most Fridays are my best shots at ducking out.
lexieverafter 0 Posted November 5, 2014 I am finally done work traveling for a while. Anyone interested in getting together next week? Maybe Thursday the 13th?
