The steristrips should fall off on their own.

I had paper tape on mine (incisions were glued) and left them on too long. Totally my fault as I was chicken to take them off even when the surgeon said it was okay. Two of the incisions would've healed a lot faster and neater if they weren't stuck to the darn paper!

If they are paper tape, steristrips, you leave them on until they fall off on their own. You can shower with them on, but don't scrub them. Lather soap above them and let it drip down onto them. Pat dry.

I had just big old square bandaid-type bandages and they told me to take them off when I got home to let the incisions air out and to shower and then to put new ones on when going out just to protect clothing from any bleeding.

My incisions were glued. There wasn't anything covering them. It was great! They all started to just fall off on their own around day 10. They were really low maintenance. Compared to other laparoscopic surgeries that I've had in the past, this was by far the best with regards to my incisions.

Mine were glued too but they also had some kind of tape that eventually came off after a few showers. I can't remember but I think i pulled some of them off after they started coming loose.

I didn't have any tape at all. But, I am a picker of sunburns and anything that peels. Lol! There was a lot of excess glue that was around my incisions. It was irritating my skin, so I admit, I picked the excess around the incisions. But, I left the incisions alone. Taking care of this type of incision closure was incredibly easy. I didn't have to worry about going in to have staples or stitches removed. It was perfect in every way!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
