CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted September 24, 2014 Great tips... but consider that the pepcid ac might not be effective. Try proselec or nexium... sometimes different people respond to different drugs.
CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted September 24, 2014 Another idea .. middle of the night foraging is an old bad habit of mine so when the urge hits and I can't sleep I have a Premier Protein drink. 30 grams of Protein and 5 carbs. It is thick and soothing and sweet so it satisfies that urfe.
jjinWA 511 Posted September 24, 2014 The Protein Drink is a great idea. My nutritionist told me to not take my Vitamin at night. She has read that some Vitamins may keep you awake. Not sure if this is actually a fact, but my Nurse Practitioner daughter agreed with her. So I make sure I take my last vitamin (1 of 2 ) during the day by 3:00 PM. I do wake about 2:00/3:00 PM but I just roll over and go back to sleep. No hunger at night so I consider myself lucky for that.

scootergirl 118 Posted October 4, 2014 Do you have seasonal allergies? I am now ~15 months post surgery. Last fall and again this fall I found myself with unexplained and insatiably hungry. I now recognize what I experienced as untreated allergies and it's post nasal drip that can seem like hunger. Once I treated my allergies (Claritin was all I needed) and the patience for my allergy season to pass and my hunger is back to normal and controllable. Good luck
Healthier2day1227 326 Posted October 14, 2014 I don't have allergies but that's good to know scooter girl.
Bronco0605 135 Posted October 14, 2014 Try veggies with hummus it has some Protein. I know some folks may say no to this one but I have Peanut Butter in the night if I wake up. It seems to help me a lot.
