I'm definitely noticing a difference in my skin elasticity everywhere since the surgery. Any tips to prevent it from worsening? And how much Vitamin E are people taking? And favorite lotions? Thx!

I've been using Eucerin Q10 anti wrinkle sensitive skin on my face and neck and a Palmers Massage Lotion for stretch marks (with Vitamin E, collagen, elastin, Shea butter, and cocoa butter) on the rest of my body. My saggy cheeks, jowls, and and turkey neck have firmed up really well, as has most of the jiggly skin on my abdomen and arms. My butt and thighs and knees are another story. Super saggy and jiggly skin despite good muscle tone. But I was a lot bigger on the bottom to start with. I recently read that DMAE can help with skin firming, so I'm now using Source Naturals Skin External DMAE Firming Body Lotion from the waist down. Probably a gimmick, but who knows.

My boobs are a complete lost cause....went from a DD to an A/B cup and there's no firming those up! I don't plan on getting plastics, but I have read about thermage as a possible non-surgical option for firming skin. May check it out in a year or so after I finally stop losing and everything tightens up as much as it's going to. In the meantime, I've got the softest, smoothest saggy skin ever. ;)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
