DRIVER 0 Posted May 7, 2007 I am 7 weeks post-op and about two weeks ago I started burping alot, at least 3 or 4 or more in 5 min. These are not good window rattling burps, just small quiet burps. Most people would not even notice I do this, but I sure do.I am sure getting tired of it. ANY IDEAS?
punkytres 0 Posted May 8, 2007 geez Wish I could help! I'm 10 days post-op and have had nothing but gas, air, burps what ever you wanna call it.. I've been trying gas-x and deep breathing and it doesn't help. All I know is I'm very uncomfortable and tired of it as well. Maybe it's something your eating that doesn't agree with you. Daisalana 33 Posted May 8, 2007 My initial operation burps (and poots) whew.. that was a lot.. That's all gone now, but everytime I drink or eat, I get burps. Small quiet ones. I figured it comes with the territory now! I look forward to them, it lets me 'feel' the room I have left.

Try being EXTRA careful to not swallow air and see what that does. Are you eating foods that are gassy? Like Beans?
punkytres 0 Posted May 8, 2007 nope only pudding, Tomato Soup, jello... Am still on liquid
WASaBubbleButt 41 Posted May 8, 2007 Well, think about it. The air has to be coming from somewhere. Either you are swallowing it or eating gassy foods. If you aren't eating Beans non stop, you have to be swallowing air. If you think through this while eating, do you think that might be workable?
punkytres 0 Posted May 8, 2007 well how do I stop eating air than. I notice breathing in while I eat.
punkytres 0 Posted May 8, 2007 I meen I dont notice.. This sucks!
WASaBubbleButt 41 Posted May 8, 2007 It's not a matter of breathing while you eat, it's something that takes practice. Before you swallow think about what is in your mouth. Remove the air and THEN swallow. You'll get the hang of it, it just takes time.

WASaBubbleButt 41 Posted May 8, 2007 TONS! Big bites, eating too fast, not chewing well enough, and swallowing air. Being banded means learning how to CHEW once again. Amazing what we think we know.
