AuriP 420 Posted September 29, 2014 Alzheimers disease? Beni, my insurance doesn't have a minimum diet wait, it is my hospitals program. They would have approved me long ago.
Beni 1,484 Posted September 29, 2014 Oh, I see. I sure hope it's only 3 months. There is only so much NUT training one can do. It will go quick. I am convinced they do it in part to allow the patient enough time to process the information and wrap her/his mind around the concept that this is going to take some work. There is an impression out there that bariatric surgery is the easy way out. It most certainly is not! I feel like it's getting in that dingy as the Titanic sinks. My choice is to take the dingy to choose life. But that dingy ride in the frigid North Atlantic is not going to be the easy way out.
Alumace 53 Posted September 30, 2014 Just waiting on to see what date my op is my guess would be near end of October. And to do any needed tests.
Beni 1,484 Posted September 30, 2014 Oh, that's not so bad. I just came back from the doctors office for EKG and blood test. The results will be back in two days. It is 28 days until surgery
Alumace 53 Posted September 30, 2014 Already had those done. Did blood test last week EKG before I had to get laser eye treatment for my eyes at royal Perth hospital it was a older test might have to redo but my weight from then and now is only around 2kg diff so I'll see. Need to see diabetics specialist as well. Was told he only does a 2 day liquid diet tho and post op was told I'm not allowed to drink Optifast. Interested how my overall blood sugars are ATM my diabetics haven't been very well controlled for years. And lately been around 4-8 they call it differently everywhere else lol. But the norm is 5-8 around but on occasion it's gone to 13.
Beni 1,484 Posted September 30, 2014 Oh good, you have done a lot already. The good news is this will help with the diabetes for sure. Keep us posted!
