yes it seemed they started that with this enterovirus outbreak.

I guess that makes sense but none of my children are school age.

There was no reason for the nurse to be rude though.

I will be careful, usually if I have to lift we always have to do it with another person at least. I know what people to call on when I need help lifting. Plus it depends on what they are having me do, I am a float CNA so I'm all over the hospital, I may do a close observation one day, on a floor another day or monitoring a group of people via a monitor. I have choices, most of the staffing people know I've had surgery and can accommodate me well.

HI EVERYONE,

This thread is officially closed. We have all moved to the Post-surgery part of the Gastric Bypass Forum. All of us in October have GRADUATED, hurray, we are now WLS Gladiators.

You can find us by searching OCTOBER 2014

It's easy:

1)Type OCTOBER 2014 on the search bar (top right of page)

2)Pull the little triangle down (it's after the ...) to click on the circle to search within Forums

3)Then click on the magnifying glass

You come to a page with a list of topics. Ours in in there.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
