Most Multivitamins do contain Iron, however since it can be toxic to children a lot of chewables don't...it will state it on the bottle if it contains iron. You should be taking the extra iron as our bodies do not readily absorb iron after surgery.

I didn't kno the multi had iron! I'm taking Iron aside from it uhmmm oops I'm going to ask @@freelyme since my pharmacy and docs are closed.does Multi Vitamin have iron? I was precribed separate iron!

it does but the amount of Calcium in the Multivitamin is not enough and doesnt block the iron that's in it because it's not enough calcium that's why we take extra calcium and extra iron it's crazy

My pill taking routine is like an ordeal. I am glad I am not alone. Are you all taking sublingual B12 as well and Biotin?

@@Beni so you know! I didn't want to go to the er! I suffered recovering from my c section and that horrible pain. Those percs messed me up like I felt it in my gut and going down I was miserable, like how do you feel like pooping but its just stuck there? My god, I think I took more than 15 laxatives. When it came out, there was a force I felt it all come out, I even screamed I didn't know that could be possible, idk how my intestines didn't pop. Geez I even took pictures because I would of made the book of world records! Idk how it came out it was like a basketball. I hope I poop soon because I really am scared of going through that again. Okay I'm done with the tmi, sorry guys.

some multistage do, some don't, I bought Flintstone chewable because it does. Look on the label. Some of the Centrum silver chewable does not.

OMG I thought I was the only person who had gone through that. My doctor said it was impossible after 4 bottles os sodium citrate. Basically he didn't believe that I had consumed that much. I had not been able to go for 14 days. Imagine.

Later i found out it was the Percs. I was so mad the doctor didn't tell me. heck at least I could have been taking laxatives. I cannot believe how uncaring health care professionals are to Constipation. It is a BIG DEAL

@Bronxmerci---Oh my gosh girl!!! You poor thing!!! I have had issues "going" since, like forever! I finally was recommended a natural "vitamin" called Mag 07 (check it out on Amazon) It works WONDERS. BUT, they're big capsules and I doubt I'll be able to take them after surgery. It's basically a big dose of magnesium, but it's not like a laxatve, it's not "violent", LOL. I'm wondering if I can open the capsules and dump them in applesauce or something. I might bring them to the hospital and ask. Seriously, I've been regular for the last 8 months, which is like a miracle for me.

As far as the meds...for me, my Dr. to take as many chewable or dissolvable as possible. All of mine, except Vit B1 are. And that one is tiny. Oh, and my Calcium, but I have the petite ones, so should be ok.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
