@@amylynns, what a terrible decision to have to make this late in the game. I wish I could help but this is a hard one. Go with the best available information and don't try to beat yourself to death with "what if." You can't predict the future.

Good Luck. I would focus on that 4:45 AM hospital arrival. You'll get to sleep after surgery.

Thanks Beni. ;) I am really confident in my surgeon, and think I'll stick with my plan of bypass. I just hope I don't die, LOL.

4:45! Can you believe it?? We're thinking of possibly staying at a hotel near the hospital. It would save us a 45 minute drive that morning, but I don't want to spend $100 on a hotel. That's on my to do list today, to look into a hotel.

imho: I think a hotel is a fabulous idea. You are going to have enough stress on you the day of surgery and omitting the drive might really help.

Me too. My only concern is my 8yr old daughter. She'll be clingy the night before surgery and I kind of wanted to be there for her. But we could wait until after she goes to bed to head to the hotel too I guess.(my mom is going to come stay at our house with the kids) Hmmm, we'll have to see. It'll all work out I'm sure!

So mini 2 week update. I just measured myself again along with my weight. Going by my scale weight I told you all at 245 lbs I'm down to 233lbs, so that a net 12 lbs loss. Then based off my measurements I've lost 113/4 inches, 3 inches from my bust and 2 inches off the hips was the most amount loss with about an inch loss from everywhere else. I'm hoping I'm not losing all my boobs because they were what I was proud of being as big as I am.

You're looking great Auri!! I can definitely see the difference!! I wish I would have taken pics before I started my liquid diet. I'm down 12 pounds.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
