SparkleCat 521 Posted September 22, 2014 Is there an update in the Kindle store? As of yesterday I couldn't use the app without updating, but there wasn't an update available for my Kindle Fire tablet. It freezes on my iPhone 5s....so I took it off.

We stopped releasing a Kindle specific app. You should be able to use our new Android app on your device. You can download it here.
bellabill 253 Posted September 22, 2014 Alex It seems better now ... I have not done anything but somehow it's not freezing anymore. It's a relief! Thank you for the concern

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case ... unless there's a secret to force install apps from the play store on a kindle that I'm not familiar with. Really bummed about not being able to use it. Boo.
SparkleCat 521 Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) I don't think you can use android apps on a kindle. It's a shame you gave up that platform and don't allow the older version to be used Edited September 23, 2014 by SparkleCat

And, since the old app doesn't work on kindle, I wouldn't be able to access this thread to see if your link would, in fact, work on that platform

jessiquoi 623 Posted September 23, 2014 @@Ken S. on the android app i now can't see that menu line that used to appear on the bottom of the screen that allowed me to see all the items that appear on the web version, ie, notifications, messages, etc. is this the intention? all i can see now is the actual forums. Ken S. 162 Posted September 24, 2014 @@jessiquoi You can slide out a menu from the left side of the screen. The menu is accessible on nearly all screens throughout the application. The only 2 places that it is not accessible is while reading an actual topic, or while composing a post/reply or topic.
