Banan 7 Posted September 17, 2014 After surgery how long before you see any weight change?
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) You'll gain weight right away due to all the IV fluids. As far as weight loss goes, it varies from person to person. My advice is to stay off the scale until at least four weeks after surgery. Learn to focus on getting your Protein and hydration in, and following your team's program, rather than a number on a scale. You can control how well you follow your program but not how much you lose or how fast! So I say focus on what you can control and have faith that good things will follow. eta: if by "see" any weight change you meant, how soon until you see any visible changes, again it varies a lot, depending on how much you have to lose in the first place! People really started to notice for me about three months out. Edited September 17, 2014 by Bufflehead
JCP 619 Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) I am day 6. My husband took a pic of my face. Noticeable difference between today and when I began my 2 week pre-op. Edited September 17, 2014 by JCP
beatrizdallago 1 Posted September 18, 2014 I lost 20lbs 2 weeks postop, however, my doctor said it was a miracle and that i should expect it to slow down, because now im on phase 4, with solid foods already so it has slowed down bit, i have lost 7lbs in the last week
katlike 0 Posted September 18, 2014 My Dr was surprised that I lost 15 lbs 6 days post op. Now 9 days post op and lost another 3. I KNOW this is going to slow down or stall. Just enjoying it while I can.
