Rubylyn congratulations on getting the band!

I sleep on my side but that shifted when I got that band. It was a bit tender. So I rolled over to the other side. Slept like a charm.

ok I have a pain tolerance of about 1. What happy pills did you get? I thought we would not be able to swallow pills? Also how was Dr. Ortiz and the hospital? I have been researching him and Tijuana (a little scared there). There they keep you in the hospital for 2 days here (houston) you are out ina few hours. What is the difference? Thanks for the help and good luck on your life change!

Hi. I was banded on 6/28 and slept on my tummy that night in the hospital. It was uncomfortable to do the actual turning, but my tummy felt okay laying on it. I did you a rolled up towel to slightly prop up one side, Good Luck!

I'm a side/stomach sleeper. For the first couple days after surgery, I was crashed out at my parent's house on their recliner. I found though if you put a pillow underneath your stomach and sleep on the side it actually isn't that uncomfortable. It took me about two weeks to get back to sleeping comfortably on my side and stomach.

I don't think it messes anything up if you do sleep on your stomach but for me, it just plain hurt.

Paco Momma, I noticed you had a Tummy Tuck where your signature is.
How much did you pay for the tummy tuck? I'm pretty sure I'll need one eventually because my stomach has stretched ridiculously after having kids.

i am a side/stomach sleeper ... mostly on my side but partially on my stomach at the same time if that makes any sense ...

i was on my stomach 2-3 days after surgery ... it was really weird because as i would move, it felt as if my organs and everything inside of me was shifting, but once i got used to that i was great...

ME TOO! I was amazed that I could return to my comfortable position so quickly. I agree it was weird to feel like things were shifting although I thought maybe that was in my head. I still roll over slowly and try not to put full weight on my abdomen even though its been a month since the surgery.:notagree

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
