Recommended Posts

Looking at high protein/low carb shake recommendation that I can buy in or online shipped within Canada? Any recommendations? Power suggestion but also looking at the pre-made ones that I can have accessible at work. Thx

Sam's Club also sells the Premier shake. One a day along with the 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and turkey or chicken breast and a couple of poached or scrambled eggs throughout the day is how I get my daily Protein requirement.

I was using the powdered shake too but for some reason I would just lose all energy within about 20 min of drinking it lately. Have not figured that out yet because I used it for months without any problems at all.

I use Dyna whey, (can order online) I bought mine at Dominion, the one I have is strawberry/kiwi flavour... 130cals & 30grams of protein! I just started to blend in my nutri bullet.. 1 scoop of powder, 1 cup skim milk, a few slices of frozen banana and frozen unsweetened strawberry slices!! Delicious!!!! Total = 39gr Protein, 220cals. A PERFECT start to my day.

I love the Premier Protein pre-made shakes from costco. They are great straight up or mixed with some ice and fruit.< /p>

I'm also waiting on my shipment of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury which I have seen talked about on here many times...I ordered the chicken flavour (to have as a broth), the unflavored (to mix when I make Jello and such) and the chocolate. It has really great reviews but takes a few weeks to get here.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
