Thin Eyelashes?

Recommended Posts

We all know about the thinning hair, but what about eyelashes? I'm losing so many, and I can see gaps in between them! Did this happen to anyone else?

yes it did happen to me. My hair is sooo thin as are my eyelashes. I miss my once thick luxurious locks but I miss being smaller more. Hair loss is a small price to pay for long term weight loss. I know it will all come back eventually. Not too sure about the eyelashes but you might want to check with the skin doctor. they have meds that can make your eyelashes grow and thicken up.

I've been wanting to try the Rx Latisse.

Has anyone tried this? If so, what was your experience?

I'd like to use it on my eyebrows, too. As I've aged, the hair all over my body has gotten thinner. But I only want to replace the hair around my eyes. :)

I have been on Latisse for over 9 months now. I have not noticed that my eyelashes are thicker but they are definitely longer.

Thanks, Mbstas.

What is the cost?

I've been curious about Latisse as well. Do you have to keep on using it though, like Rogaine? I'm not even sure if I could find it where I live.

Rogaine will make eyelashes grow back too. As well as hair everywhere else. I've just resolved to wax the spots I don't want hair growing. Yes, that includes my mustache (ugh) and chin hairs.

I've been using Rogaine for a year and a half now for PCOS related hair loss and it definitely didn't make a difference with hair anywhere other than my head. Must be different for different people.

@@WhoKnows, everyone is different. Rogaine made me grow peach fuzz all over my face, regrew the lashes (not longer ones, but new ones) to replace those that I lost when my hair fell out, and a delightful female mustache. Honestly, even hair down there filled in more.

I still have thinned areas in my hairline that are likely permanent, but it is better. I've been using Rogaine for 14 months.

I looked up Latisse on Wikipedia, and there doesn't seem to be a German article on it, which leads me to suspect that it doesn't exist here. Bummer :(

I've been using Latisse about a year. I had great eye lashes when I was younger, and they thinned as I aged. I don't think being sleeved impacted that at all. However, they are just about as good as they were when I was young, now. I also use it on my brows, and it works great there, too.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
