@@rfriend82 I feel that comment was extremely inconsiderate and not a portrayal of a real friend. If my friend would've said that to me, I would probably have to put a little distance between us. You need nothing but positivity in your life at this time. anyone who does not respect that should be loved from a distance!

What your friend said was terribly inconsiderate, especially if it had that "snarky" quality to the comment. I'd have to leave that "friend" alone. Tell them how it made me feel and unless there's a heartfelt apology derived from genuine shock because they didn't realize the comment was so hurtful, I'd definitely be done with that "friendship." You don't need that negativity.

On the brightside, we live in a time where most surgery and anesthesia is safe so you are going to be AOK and be much healthier in this new chapter of your life.

Congrats and best wishes!

Sleeved 1.5.15. Doing well for the most part. Minimal gas, a little fatigue. Able to tolerate everything in this stage so far. Haven't had a BM yet. Incision/staples very itchy. Water doesn't sit well on my stomach. Found out today that a compression/girdle makes it feel better.

What brand of Vitamins do you take?

Hi all!

I'm super new here and came across this post. I'm in the beginning stage of getting sleeved and am hoping I can get some advice and info from those who have been through the process and meet others just starting like me :)

@@Martene81 - welcome. Every surgeon has a different protocol and every experience is a little different. Look around and check out others postings on their experiences. Use the search feature to find a wealth of info on any questions you may have. I've had a completely pleasant experience. No pre-op diet and no post-op complications. No gas, no pain, no vomiting or Constipation.< /p>

@@MyssJones, how are you doing with your Protein. You can meet the Protein requirements by eating foods high in protein. Chobani plain greek yogurt 15gms, 2oz tuna 16gms, hormel turkey chilli 1/2 cup 12 gms... just to give you some examples. Protein is very important.

@@Martene81, as @@BLERDgirl noted, everyone's journey is different. I am losing slowly, no hair loss, no complications. This site is a great place to get information. However, my only advice is, to always check with your surgeon and Nut with any questions you may have. Good luck!

Try adding lemon or lime to your Water. If I don't have fresh I use the concentrated juice. I'm taking Vitafusions women's and Calcium with d3. I also take the B12 5000mcg once every other day.

@@Galaxy Girl I've been doing much better with Protein since starting puréed foods two weeks ago. Yogurts, eggs, and various meats have been working week with my body. I get my recommended protein and some. Still won't touch Protein Shakes tho, lol.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
