Well I'm back!! 1 month post op and moving right along!

My 1 month post op appointment went very, very well today!! I'm on to soft foods for 1 week then on to regular foods on Christmas Eve!! Has anyone on regular foods had any issues with lettuce? I'm craving my salads bad!!

Oh and my stats! HW-238 SW-226 CW-208...Down 30 total!! — feeling motivated.

I am new to this, but I was sleeved November 24, had to stay at the hospital til thanksgiving day due to constant throwing up and not being able to eat. Starting weight was 271. When I went to my 2 week appointment I was down to 253. I don't weigh my self until my doctors appointments because I don't want to become obsessed lol. I was told I could move to the mushy stage but when I try to throw some new foods in my diet I tend to throw up sometimes daily. But as of today I'm doing ok, still have my off days and my days where I feel like crap but still hoping this journey gets better. I commend everyone who has done this because it's tough but reading everyone's stories makes me feel better about my decision.

Can anyone give information in regards to the Endoscopy? How long did it take, is there any recovery period etc

Hi Arenea, the endoscopy was real easy, the hardest part was worrying about what was going to happen, lol. They get you comfortable and the anesthesia doctor come in and talk to you to explain what is going to happen, then they gently put you to sleep, you don't feel anything, it's a very relaxing nap, the doctor takes pics of your esophagus and stomach just to make sure there aren't any problems that might interfere with your WLS, the procedure is really quick about 30 mins then you wake up and go home, simple. You won't have a problem so save yourself a headache and don't worry.

for me it was the best 2 hour nap I ever had; they're just looking inside to see if you have any hernias etc, I do, it will be fixed during surgery ... recovery, I just had a sore throat the rest of the day and the next.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
